The aim of this research programme is to help the maritime industry to determine the operational limits and safety of floating structures such as ships and platforms and to support the development of innovative concepts for blue growth.
This programme looks at the effects of waves on structures, including interaction effects when multiple structures are involved, and the quantification of risk in extreme conditions. It covers research on renewable energy devices, as well as the new research area ‘Sustainable Seas’. The technology that is developed relates to aqua farming, living at sea and the sustainable use of our oceans. Through this programme we generate new ideas for innovative concepts, which can then be further developed and tested in cooperation with our clients.

We combine software, model test facilities, simulators, and full-scale monitoring capabilities to help our clients make ships and operations cleaner, safer and smarter during each phase of the lifecycle. Through this we aim to bridge the gap between design and operation.
